Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

CarDecision (“we”, “us”) operates an informational car buying and ownership decision website. Contact: see Contact. Our public site URL is configured in server settings.

2. What we collect

Essential technical data. Like most sites, our servers may log IP address, user agent, request path and timestamps for security, rate limiting and diagnostics.

Session cookies. We use a session cookie to keep CSRF tokens and short-lived flash messages working. Admin sessions are separate and restricted.

Analytics & ads (optional). If Google Analytics or AdSense is enabled in configuration, those providers may set their own cookies subject to their policies.

Contact form. The public contact form is designed so that name, email and message are not stored in our application database. If outbound email (SMTP) is not configured, we ask you to email us directly instead of retaining PII on the server.

No consumer login. Core tools do not require a user account, so we do not maintain a consumer profile database for browsing or calculators.

3. How we use information

We use technical logs to protect the service, debug outages and enforce rate limits. We use optional analytics to understand aggregate traffic. We do not sell personal contact-form contents because we do not retain them in DB from that form.

4. Sharing

We may use infrastructure providers (hosting, CDN, email transport) that process data under their terms. Legal authorities may receive data when required by applicable law. Third-party embeds (for example YouTube) operate under their own privacy policies when you load those players.

5. Retention

Security and rate-limit records are kept only as long as needed for protection. Analytics retention follows the configured provider settings. Admin audit content is managed separately by operators.

6. Your choices

You can block non-essential cookies in your browser. You can use the site without submitting the contact form. For privacy questions, email the address listed on the contact page. See also our Cookie Policy.

7. Children

CarDecision is aimed at adults researching vehicle purchases. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Changes

We may update this policy as features or laws change. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we publish revisions.
