Editorial Policy
How CarDecision writes, attributes and updates car-related content.
Mission
Help Indian buyers make clearer ownership and purchase decisions with transparent estimates, comparisons and labelled data — not hype, not scraped article dumps, and not invented review scores.
Original summaries, not full scrapes
News items on CarDecision are short original summaries. Every item must show Source: [Publisher] and a Read full story outbound link. We do not present third-party articles as if they were written here, and we do not paste full scraped bodies into our templates.
Reviews & video
Review pages may include a title, type, channel, date, optional summary and a YouTube link or embed when a
video_id is stored. We do not invent star ratings or numeric scores. Demo video IDs must be replaced
with permitted content before production marketing.
Community discussions
Forum pointers (including Team-BHP style listings) show the discussion title, a “Discussed on …” credit and a link out only. We do not copy posts, quotes beyond fair identification, or thread HTML.
Confidence & demo labelling
Upcoming cars use confidence_level badges. Sales and prices use data_confidence. Demo mode surfaces a site-wide banner so visitors know sample data is present. Editors should never silently upgrade a rumour to “confirmed” without a documented source change.
Corrections & updates
Material errors (wrong price band, misattributed source, broken outbound link) should be corrected promptly via admin. Readers can request fixes through Contact. Where possible, upcoming and sales rows expose a last-updated date.
Independence
Sponsored placements, if introduced later, must be labelled as advertising. Editorial summaries and calculator defaults should not be silently altered to favour a paying brand. Ad slots remain placeholders until advertising is explicitly enabled.
